CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM

WHEN "WHO MATTERS" IS PRONOUNCED BY THE GOVERNMENT ...
AND ADOPTED BY THE CHURCH.
The following is an excerpt from A Country Pastor, a compassionate and thoughtful preacher, unafraid to broach some heavy topics, which he carefully wraps in common sense and biblical context:
"The hypocrisy surrounding compliance is not subtle. For years, many of the same voices now demanding unquestioned obedience warned loudly about government overreach and tyranny. 'Don’t tread on me' was the rallying cry. But when power appeared to reflect their values and serve their interests, resistance became rebellion, questioning became sin, and submission was declared holy. Scripture did not change. Power did.
Christian nationalism often wraps itself in the language of God, country, and family, as though those three are naturally aligned and beyond question. What is being defended is rarely God’s heart, and it is never all families. It is a selective vision that protects certain families while tearing others apart, blessing some children while treating others as expendable. God is invoked, but God’s character is ignored. Country is elevated, but justice is sidelined. Family is praised, but only when it fits the approved mold. This fusion turns faith into a shield for self-interest and replaces God’s kingdom with a hierarchy of belonging."
Amen.
