KINDNESS?

Interesting observation. According to ChatGPT--currently, what appears to be our only moral compass--the only president in US history to display zero public sympathy for civilians harmed by federal power? Donald Trump. Even if the harm was intentional, former presidents have always expressed sadness and regret.

This is a major shift in the "human decency" Americans have come to expect from their leaders. A shift few are talking about. Has Trump so normalized violent, hate-filled rhetoric that we no longer expect him to be a decent human being? Is he unable to offer any condolences to the families of Good and Pretti, blatantly shot in our streets? Apparently not.

Our national reaction to these murders, as to be expected, has run the gamut of emotions ... from rage to weeping to taunting. One post I read recently, stated coldly: "ICE is protecting us. God bless the agent who shot Pretti."

Has Donald Trump so infected our culture that we are mimicking his disgusting behavior? ... or is he a reflection of what we've already become?
